Biographies
David M. Coyne, CFRE, Vice President
Dave Coyne joined
The Sheridan Group as Vice President in 2003. He provides a wide range
of campaign and development services to several TSG clients, including:
• The Ocean Conservancy
• Richard Bland College of the College of William & Mary
• Randolph-Macon Academy
• The Wild Dolphin Project
• Valentine Richmond History Center
• Stone Ridge School
• King & Low-Heywood Thomas School
Prior to joining TSG, Dave concluded a four-year tenure as Chief Development
Officer of the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund, coordinating the resource development
program for the Endowment Fund and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Previously, he served as Director of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
(then National Society of Fund Raising Executives) Foundation, and was Director
of Annual Giving for Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia before that. He
started his career in the non-profit world as a management consultant for Kappa
Sigma in 1987, and later served as its first Director of Development from 1991-1994.
Dave has a demonstrated record of service to the fundraising profession and a
strong commitment to client development and the field of philanthropy. He
is the Immediate Past President of the Association Foundation Group www.afgnet.org,
a 200-member national society of association foundation fundraising professionals
and chaired the 2004 AFG National Conference on Association Foundations and Fundraising.
He presently serves in leadership positions with the North-American Interfraternal
Foundation, Inc., the Franklin and Marshall College Alumni Board, the Franklin
and Marshall College Alumni Greek Council and the Glenwood Recreation Club, Inc.
Dave received his Bachelor's Degree in 1987 from Franklin & Marshall College
and his Master's Degree in Public Communication from Syracuse University in 1990. He
lives with his wife, Tanya, director of choral programs at the National Cathedral
School, and two children in Silver Spring, Maryland.
